Because of the bad situation in Venezuela, the bad economy, everything. I really had to leave.
How did you expect to be treated here?
Well…at the time, as an immigrant…..Thank God Curacao opened its doors to me.
Yes, I must say that that everything went well; I can’t say anything negative.
What are you going to do when the situation in Venezuela changes?
I will go back, return to my family

Well -as one says- we are here to trying to keep on moving forward.
To work, to live here, having a routine. Hopefully we can return to our country one day.

The world news on the situation in Venezuela is highlighted from many angles: from the poignant food and medicine shortages to developments at the global geopolitical level. But what is invisible in the reports about numbers, international problems and possible solutions is the true face of those displaced, the many undocumented, and therefore illegal, Venezuelans abroad.
With this project, “The Hidden Voices of undocumented Venezuelans on Curacao”, we offer a chance for personal experiences to be heard, giving a voice in the media for these men and women, students and professionals, forced to live in the shadows of our society. My hope is that this project can change hearts and inspire support for those displaced and living in hiding by bringing attention to the individual stories from these hidden voices.

Las noticias mundiales sobre la situación en Venezuela se destacan desde todo tipo de ángulos: desde la escasez conmovedora de alimentos y medicinas hasta los desarrollos a nivel geopolítico global. Pero lo que es invisible en los informes sobre números, problemas internacionales y posibles soluciones, es la verdadera cara de los desplazados, los muchos indocumentados y, por lo tanto, ilegales, venezolanos en el extranjero.
Con mi proyecto, “Las voces ocultas de los venezolanos indocumentados en Curazao”, ofrezco la oportunidad de que las experiencias personales sean escuchadas, dando una voz en los medios de comunicación para estos hombres y mujeres, estudiantes y profesionales, obligados a vivir en las sombras de nuestra sociedad. Nuestra esperanza es que este proyecto pueda cambiar los corazones e inspirar apoyo para las personas desplazadas y que viven escondidas.

Por la mala situación en Venezuela, la mala economía, todo. Realmente tuve que irme.
¿Cómo esperabas ser tratado aquí?
Bueno… en ese momento, como inmigrante… Gracias a Dios, Curacao me abrió sus puertas.
Sí, debo decir que todo salió bien; No puedo decir nada negativo.
¿Qué vas a hacer cuando cambie la situación en Venezuela?
Regresaré, volveré con mi familia.
